Deleting your account
Settings → Delete account. It does not go through us, there is no form to fill in, and nobody asks you why.
No longer have the app installed? Write to privacy@loveandcouples.com from the address on the account and we will do it for you.
What happens, in order
The account stops working the moment you confirm. Every device is signed out and every session token is destroyed. If you could still sign in, you would rightly assume it had not worked.
Nothing is scrubbed yet. Sign in with your email and password within the window and the deletion is cancelled — a mis-tap on something this final should be recoverable.
The scrub runs and the personal data below is gone. There is no step four. We cannot restore it, and neither can you.
Their account is untouched. Any season the two of you had running ends, because a season needs two players, and what was already scored stays in their past seasons.
Be specific about it
Your email address, your password, your name, your date of birth, your photo, your pronouns, the country derived from your sign-up, your intensity setting, and your Google sign-in link. Every session token, password-reset link, verification link, push registration and queued notification is dropped from the database entirely.
The rows recording that a season happened — which days were played, what was scored — because they are half of a game your partner played too, and deleting them would delete their season as well as yours. Where a name has to appear, it says “Someone”.
The lines you wrote about what landed each day stay in their copy of the season. They were messages you sent and they read — closer to an email in somebody else’s inbox than to your profile — and removing them would gut the keepsake the game exists to produce. If you would rather they went too, write to us and say so, and we will remove them.
A record that a deletion was requested and carried out, and the dates. It contains no personal data. A deletion log that deletes itself cannot prove anything happened.
The full field-by-field table, including how long everything lasts while the account is alive, is in the privacy policy.
